CCS (Combined Charging System)
CCS combines an AC connector with two extra DC pins. It is the dominant fast-charging standard in North America (CCS1) and Europe (CCS2), supported by most major manufacturers.
CHAdeMO
CHAdeMO was an early DC fast-charging standard developed in Japan. It remains widely used in Japan and some Asian markets, and many existing stations still carry CHAdeMO connectors.
Type 2
Type 2 (IEC 62196) is the European AC standard. While it is primarily for AC charging, it pairs with CCS2 for DC fast charging.
Which One Do You Need?
Base your decision on the vehicles in your fleet or market. If your market is Europe, CCS2 is essential. For Japan or legacy Asian fleets, CHAdeMO may still be required.
